This am when I got home from work the house was quiet so I headed down to the cave to do a little painting. Yesterday before heading to work I sprayed the bothers with my current white metal of choice Vallejo Air Color steel.
This am I started laying in some of the detail work on Wrathar. I intended to get through all of the yellow metal but there is so much of it on the brothers and I was getting to tired so only worked on Wrathar. Here you can see some of the yellow metals on the detailed armor.
I used two different yellow metals on this mini so far. The two colors are Vallejo Model Color brass and bronze. I also did one section with a 1:1 mix of the two colors.
While I had the VMC brass out I put the yellow metals down on Rok. He needs to have a few sections cleaned up then he will receive his shade wash. After that I will basecoat the leathers. I plan on doing two different leathers a light one for this loincloth and a medium for the straps. Once those basecoats are finished he will be getting attached to the base I made for him a few days ago before proceeding to highlighting. Here is the big man at the current time.
Well I cannot keep my eyes open any longer time to head off to bed. With a little luck I will be able to do a little more work on either the SoB or Rok this evening prior to heading to work.

Gaming Withdrawl
It seems like it has been forever since I have been able to get any games in. I tell ya work really gets in the way of hobby/game time. Since as I haven't been able to put any minis on the table I have been brainstorming lists to play next time I do get to the store to play. Fingers crossed I will be able to make it out next
Wednesday for the last week of our "Wednesday Nite Fights" which were/are 25pt SR2012 tourneys. Seeing as I have been painting up the Sons of Bragg and Rok I have been trying to work them into lists to play next Wednesday. I am having a hard time getting the SoB to fit into a 25pt list but I sure as hell have been trying to shoehorn them into one. Here are some of the lists I have been playing with in my head:
Jarl (-6pts)
*Pyre Troll (5pts)
*Impaler (5pts)
*Runebearer (2pts)
Sons of Bragg (6pts)
Gatorman Posse: full (9pts)
Janissa (3pts)
Swamp Gobbers (1pt)
This list concerns me a little with the lack of a heavy but looks like it could still be fun. The SoB should be able to advance up field at DEF 17 with weald secrets and the gobber cloud or Def 19 behind Janissa's wall.
Gunnbjorn (-5pts)
*Rok (11pts)
*Bomber (10pts)
*Impaler (5pts)
Alten (2pts)
Whelps (2pts)
I have been wanting to play Gunnbjorn for sometime now and doubly so Gunnborn/Rok. I am not sure how good this list will be but it has a ton of minis I just like. I need to get Gunny table ready if I plan to play this as he has kinda been pushed aside on the painting table by the new EBDT, Rok, and the SoB.
Grim (-6)
*EBDT (10pts)
*EBDT (10pts)
*Axer (6pts)
*Impaler (5pts)
This is a list I have been wanting to toy with (more at the 35pt lvl where I add Nyss hunters) for some time time. When I got the second EBDT back from Rob this became a possibility.
eMadrak (-5pts)
*Axer (6pts)
*Pyre (5pts)
Fennblades: full (8pts)
*Fennblade UA (2pts)
Dygs: full (6pts)
Fell Caller (3pts)
I am also thinking about swapping the 10pts of Fennblades for a max unit of Kriel Warriors with UA and two Cabers so I can put a caber next to Maddy and use the take up grim salvation trick to help deliver the man. Also flaming fists on cabers is just fun.
Borka (-5pts)
*Mulg (12pts)
*EBDT (10pts)
*Keg Carrier (n/a)
KSB: min (3pts)
Janissa (3pts)
Whelps (2pts)
This list feels little goofy to me but fun. I don't have that much infantry clearing here but some serious single target damage potential. This with an extremely hard to kill Borka under the KSB aura, behind Janissa's wall, with an EBDT animus, stumbling drunk, iron flesh, and Mulg's protective fit just for fun....lets see where that puts Borka: DEF 21/ARM 21 to ranged and DEF 19/ARM 23 to melee over the wall.
I have a bunch of other lists bouncing around in my dome but this is getting long so lets cut it short here. What do you guys think? Any of these look particularly good/fun or do any of you troll players have a 25pt list you really like?

On the Assembly Line
I was able to get a little time last night to start cleaning and assembling the Sons of Bragg. I took some time this am when I go home to finish the rough assembly. I need to give them a little wash with soap and water and then fill in some of the bigger gaps with some GW liquid green stuff. I also need to tape off the slot in the bases.
I have to say I was pretty impressed with the blister Diesel brought back for me as it didn't have any seriously bad mold line. The only issue was some of the small mold line did run through the ornate detail on the shoulders so it was a but of a pain to get to but all in all not a bad unit to assemble. The minis feel a little off as the legs seem to be a little small for the body but not a big deal.

I also started putting some of the metal base down on Rok before I crashed. Upon further review I might bale to get away without using the green stuff but I will see if I can make some of the seems better with just a file. If time allows I hope to do the gap filling (if needed)/bases before I head out to work tonight but time will tell.

Bragg Unboxed
I had to cut my morning sleep short 'cause the wife had a dentist appointment. After a quick text with DieselDM (thanks again brotha) I packed the boys up in the minivan and head out to grab my Sons of Bragg blister. I hope to get a few minutes tonight to start assembling them (just jinxed myself) so I can get them primed by the end of the week.
As you can see for a three man unit there are a lot of parts. The thing I don't get is that there are only two kegs? One of the brothers a DD or is he underage?
Here are the cards for the SoB. I was a little surprised when I opened the blister to see that they didn't havethe gold ring for pre-releases but not a big deal. I need to get these guys rolling so I can get them on the table ASAP.

'Scrum Hangover/Back on Track
After finishing up the 'scrum challenge and taking the family to Sesame Place for a mini vacation I have don't very little painting since the last wips for Rok and Mouth. The prospect of painting up the Sons of Bragg in the near future has lit a fire back under me and I was able to get a little work done this am before I crashed.
Lastly I painted up all the cork for Rok's base so that I can attach him to it once I get the shade wash on him. This photo was taken right after the sepia ink was put on the dirt section which is why it looks wet.
I have put my shading wash down on Mouth now it is time to start the long grind of highlighting all that sexy blue flesh. Have I said it before....I love how he came out.
I also did a little work on Rok. Rok is lagging a little behind his EDT cohort because I need to basecoat his metals before I can put down his shade wash. I put the basecoat down on his beard and drydrushed the stone blade for his ask. Both minis have also received one layer of matte sealant to try and protect from chipping.

Fired Up About the Sons of Bragg
I mentioned in a previous post that one of our crew was at LnL and scored a Sons of Bragg blister for me and he is flying back into town later this evening. When he told me he had the blister list ideas started running through my head. This was further exacerbated after a couple text messages with Northblade Bell of Lost Hemisphere fame. I have three lists running through my head:
The first list and the one I think I am going to run first is with Jarl. I have played Jarl a fair amount of time and really like him. I find him to be a little bit of a problem late game but love the spell list and surprising speed you can obtain with a troll force.
Jarl Skuld, Devil Of Thornwood (*6pts)
* Troll Impaler (5pts)
* Dire Troll Bomber (10pts)
* Trollkin Runebearer (2pts)
Sons of Bragg (6pts)
Trollkin Fennblades (Leader and 9 Grunts) (8pts)
* Trollkin Fennblade Officer & Drummer (2pts)
Fell Caller Hero (3pts)
Janissa Stonetide (3pts)
Stone Scribe Chronicler (2pts)
I really think this list will play nicely and surprise people with how fast the fennblades and Sons get on top of their force. Mixing in a couple magic bullets to take out support and the fun blasts of a bomber and I am hoping for good times.
The second list is with another of our troll outlaws Mr Grim Angus himself:

This list goes along nicely with the fact that I am currently painting Rok and want to have him done within the week. I have converted Saxon (as any popper trollblood player should) so that he is standing on a rock outcropping and not a decapitated brother. I am not sure how this list will play but I am excited to get some new minis on the table and I always love to play dygs.
The third and final list I look forward to playing I will share at a later time. I will discuss that list after I post What's in the Box part three which should be around the corner once I send out my end of the bargain. I should have some wip photos this evening as I intend to do a little painting when I get home. Work ends in two hours but who is counting.

Team Spite Sends a Ninja to Lock n Load: Epic Grim Greens/SoBs
So one of our crew made the trek from Syracuse to Seatle to hit up Lock n Load and I have to say I am more than a bit jealous. DieselDM has been doing a phenomenal job send us photos of all the new hotness out at LnL. First off he got a couple photos of the greens for Epic Grim being sculpted by Brian Dugas. I am thrilled Brian is sculpting this guy as I truly loved his Butcher re-scuplt and Captain Gunnbjorn he did previously. OK enough talk....on to the pictures:
Diesel also grabbed a photo of the studio sons of Bragg. I have had mixed feelings on the rules for these guys since the release of Domination but always intended to pick them up. The legs look a little small and they look a little out of proportion but will have to see how they look in person.....which I will be able to do sooner rather than later 'cause Diesel was able to ninja a blister for me....WOOT!
Grim concept art. Like the look and feel of this guy.
Current greens for Grim. Looks like he is coming together nicely. Obviously his arms need to be finished, the gun needs to be added, and his hat needs sculpting but pretty damn sweet looking.
Buddy number one. This guys is AWESOME looking. Even though he isn't finished this might be my new favorite mini in the PP line. I hope he has a modified slug gun. Here comes the BOOM!
Buddy number two beginning phases.
